Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator

Description

TheClinical Coordinator works closely with the Director of Pharmacy Services toprovide leadership to Pharmacy Clinical Specialists and advance the clinicalservices provided by the Department of Pharmacy. He/she is a working Pharmacy ClinicalSpecialist that also provides clinical pharmacy services, teaching and researchactivities to promote optimal, cost-effective patient care.

He/sheis responsible for developing Pharmaceutical Care Services in the hospital and/orassociated ambulatory services. Theposition will focus on an identified clinical service line. The pharmacist will work closely withhis/her medical specialty departments, Department of Pharmacy Services, Clinical-Staffpharmacist associated with the service line, other medical staff, nursing staff,and ancillary departments to provide excellent patient care.

ThePharmacy Clinical Specialist is responsible for maintaining their expertise intheir clinical practice.



Qualifications

MinimumEducation:

Doctorof Pharmacy Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy, one year PostGraduate Residency Training and Board Certification within 18 months of hire,or as soon as allowed by the board certification organization

RecommendedEducation:

Secondyear Post Graduate Residency Training or equivalent clinical experience andBoard Certification

MinimumExperience:

Twoyears of relevant clinical experience preferred.

RequiredLicensure:

Mustbe licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Missouri or possess a temporarypharmacist license issued by the State of Missouri. License must indicate thatthe pharmacist is certified to provide Medication Therapy Services.
