Medical Assistant Full Time

The Center for Abdominal Transplantation at Saint LouisUniversity Hospital counts with extensive experience and a long history ofnationally-recognized care in hepatology, interventional nephrology andsurgery, we are committed to promoting a patient-centered, multidisciplinaryapproach to the care of the patient with end-stage organ failure and honoringthe donor gift with excellent patient and family care. Our transplant team,including specially-trained nurses, patient care coordinators and a team ofinternationally renowned surgeons, provides medical care for patients withend-stage organ failure requiring liver, kidney, kidney-pancreas, and/orisolated pancreas transplantation.

The Medical Assistant aides physician and staffmembers in performing optimal ambulatory health care to patients, stocks andmaintains exam rooms and front office; assists with clinical, clerical, andother duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include-

Checks patient's medical records forpertinent data, reviews and maintains current patient information/demographicdata.

Schedules appointments and tests
Provides patient education

Performs blooddrawing technique to obtain lab specimens.


High school or equivalent required

Additional collegetraining preferred.

Current MissouriMedical Assistant Certification preferred.

Operation of various office programs and medical equipment accuratelyand efficiently

Experience with compliance and EMTALA Required.
Phlebotomy experience a must

A minimum of 3months in a Clinic Setting is required (2 years preferred)

Customer service skills and experience.
