*Must have 1 year of ICU experience to qualify

8 ICU provides services and 24 hour care toadult and geriatric patients with acute life-threatening or potentially lifethreatening medical, surgical, oncological, and pulmonary illnesses. Thepurpose of this unit is to provide specialized nursing to such patients throughconcentrated and continuous observation and treatment directed by the medicalstaff in conjunction with the guidelines and practice parameters articulated bythe Society of Critical Care Medicine. Nursing care will be provided accordingto acuity.

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professionalpractitioner who manages and directs nursing care activities during thepatient's hospital stay and coordinates care planning with other disciplinesutilizing a patient / customer driven approach.


- Minimum Education: RN licensure in the State of Missouri

- Working Conditions: May be exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases. Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, and illness). Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency and crisis situations. Subject to irregular hours.

- Physical Requirements: Occasional prolonged standing/walking. Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
