Registered Nurse, IV Safety/Resource Nurse

The Registered Nurse (RN), IV Safety/Resource Nurse is a professional practitioner who at the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing Operations and the Infection Prevention Nurse, will manage the daily central venous catheter (CVC) report and place appropriate peripheral IVs and midline catheters. This RN will provide assistance to patients in all inpatient and outpatient areas of the hospital. Must be highly energetic, flexible and motivated to support the success of the Saint Louis University Hospital.
Minimum Education: RN licensure in the State of Missouri and become certified within 30 days to place midline catheters
Minimum Experience: Able to place IVs under ultrasound with expert ability
Working Conditions: May be exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases. Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, and illness). Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency and crisis situations.
Physical Requirements: Occasional prolonged standing/walking. Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes of patients and cart. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
