Cancer Registrar

Full Time

$3,000 Sign On Bonus!

-- Identifies, registers and maintains records of all cancer patients utilizing an automated cancer data management system. Performs follow-up on selected cancer patients to assess and report vital status and quality of survival. Analyzes registry data; disseminates information in accordance with professional ethics.

- Identifies reportable cases of malignant disease; obtains information from the patient medical records; codes information relevant to appropriate cancer cases, in accordance with ICD-O3 rules and Commission on Cancer Facility Oncology Data Standards.

- Organizes input and maintains patient data to ensure conformance to registry operations standards; preserves confidentiality and security of patient data stored in the automated registry system in paper records.

- Assists in cancer-related studies and research projects, and provides guidance in the use of tumor registry data.

Qualifications

Preferred Education: Associate's Degree

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Required licensure/certification as an RHIT, RHIA, CTR OR CCRP

Minimum Experience: Previous technical experience.
